Scarab PyramidOkay, so last night I was thinking about some ideas that we could use to start another thread once the ones we are RPing on end, so this is one of the ideas I came up with:
What if we are in the Desert of Sira (not sure why yet), and there's this pyramid filled with scarab beetles. So anyways, the beetles escape and we have to journey inside to get this jewel that's at the center of the pyramid and once we get it we have to come back out and place it on the top of the door inorder for the beetles to return and be trapped in the pyramid once more. Now the tricky part is that the pyramid is filled with obstacles and such (sorta like Indiana Jones or The Mummy) and also if you don't know what a scarab beetle is, it's this blue Egyptian beetle that is said to enter the bodies of people and eat them from the inside out. On "The Mummy" they show them alot if you would like some reference, but really, who hasn't watched "The Mummy" at some point in their life? Anyways, feel free to give opinions on this idea and change/add things to your liking. Discussing the idea before we actually do it makes it extend longer and such, so yeah. Oh, and also for finding the jewel, perhaps we should split up in groups, and since there are currently 6 people that are active (this is including Signus), then maybe we should split up into groups of 2, idk, you guys say your opinions on this as well.

Sounds good to me, lol i can be a group with my self. (Night + Signus= same person, two people)
I think, just so Night can't like storm the area with undead and kill everything in sight, that the gem can take control of the undead.
We could also have Night try that and the undead start attacking us instead.

I like that, good idea. Also, what could be the reason for us being in the Desert of Sira to begin with? And how could we find out about the pyramid's jewel and such?

Ghouls like gems, especially magic ones. So after the blood waters thread we could be looking at some of the stuff from the ghoul camp where they poisoned the water and find a scroll telling of the pyramid and the gem.

Syrinia

Alright, good idea

ok, I have scrolls, why couldn't they give a clue about that we need the gem to heal Zytah, and the portals I discussed with Syrinia can be used to get to the desert in the first place, as they are teleportation portals that can send you to any locale on the world... just not to an exact place, only the locale

and Night why do you insist on having god modes? this isn't fair or within the rules.

Awesome idea! So you're saying the gem inside the pyramid could have something that can be used to heal Zytah, that sounds good. And the portal in your cave can be used to get there. Also we found a scroll about ghouls in Blood Water, so we'll have to put them into the thread as well, maybe they could be trying to get the gem which Zytah needs as well cuz they need the gem for something else?

my thought is a gem that is imbedded with healing spells.. one use only for each type of healing
This way it cannot be god moded.
|
Syrinia
|
So why would the ghouls want it?
|
Jungkris
|
the ghouls would want it for 3 reasons...
1) as previously stated, they like gems...
2) to stop others from being healed...
3) so if they take damage, they have a chance of being healed

Syrinia

Alright, sounds good.

i don't insist, nor do i, in my opinion, have god modes.
Example: i gave the idea of the gem having the power to control the Undead so Night could not storm the place with the undead army.
another Example: Night, though he may threaten to use them in other situations, only uses the Undead army when in a war (or huge fight) that seems impossible to win without a army, and even when he does this he becomes exhausted.

guys this portal was warned before entering, the results would be unpredictable.
First I discussed and got an ok from Syrinia about this portal thing. I asked if we could have an unknown outcome that OI would determine. She agreed only for this event.
I have many neat things planned some good, some bad. One thing, noone will die from the portal. where and what powers, energies etc will occur in a fun and maybe harmful but not deadly way...
I ask, if you go on an adventure to universal or any other theme park type place... and there is a new ride, adventure within it, do you decide how it affects you?
Only this one small part of a huge whole is my direction, after that it is each person back to normal rpping from that point on.
I have played many rp games, from text based multiplayer adventures, ie gemstone, dragonsgate, and more to graphic ones, and although I can control what I do in most happenings, when dealing with an unknown unplanned adventure, ie entering a portal, going on a quest, I never gain full control of the character i play. other people have partial control over my character.
This one scene is mine, another will be yours, I will accept whatever you choose as long as it doesnt kill me in the one each of you direct.

(I feel it necessary to say I am not writing this to provoke argument about this incident, but to explain why godding should be avoided in general.)
Except, as clearly stated on my CS, my characters powers do not work while unconscious. As far as i know, your shooting him unconscious into the desert, an environment approximately 60 degrees hotter than his stable body temperature, cutting him off from his only way of cooling himself, and stopping anyone else from helping him. Effectively, you are killing him. And even then, you are taking my character out of play without my consent.
I do not care how powerful a character is, you can be the god of all life and death for all I care. But you cannot determine someone else's actions.I will dodge an attack i do not want to hit me. The idea of rping with other people is developing the story together, and using others to develop your own character. There is no leader determining what happens, that's why it's fun. Sure, I let you handle the portal and where it dumps me, but that does not mean you can control Aurus.
You are not supposed to control other characters in an rp because you do not know their character or the players plans. I actually have a much longer (About 2-3 pages longer) CS that i am keeping hidden that has full explanations of all my future abilities, all my undiscovered weaknesses, and all of my history. That way my character can grow and develop, and people can actually learn new things about him. For example, you aren't supposed to know about Aurus' cold body temperature, I was waiting to bring it up when somebody made contact with his body in game, and maybe even allow others to make use of it in the desert.
All of this could have been avoided if you had just suggested that the portal knock us unconscious. I would deem it unnecessary, as the desert environment would keep me immobile in my weakened state until I recovered, and invent some reason to not be knocked out. That is the main reason I'm protesting. When I can't play my own character it is no longer mine, and no longer fun. Even if it seems minor to you, you do not know all the details, which is why godding other characters often causes so much drama.
I'm sorry to cause such a fuss about this, but developing my character and interacting with the story are my favorite parts of RPing, and any form of godding without permission can easily ruin this.

I agree with not controling other players, I do not find that right and people should be able to control what their characters do. That I totally agree on, and I don't see why you people are making such a huge deal out of this. Why can't we stop god-moding and controling others and just play?

Alright guys, something more I have in mind for close to the ending of this thread. Once we do reach the gem, what about if the ghouls appear at the same time and try to snatch it from us, causing Syrinia to enter her rage mode and get out of control. She would defeat most of the ghouls and then turn on everyone else, but she would snap out of it before she caused anyone harm.
I've been thinking up a way for Syrinia to finally spill out her secret about being half-demon, as Night is the only one that knows, this seems like the perfect chance, and everyone would finally know. So yeah, what do you guys think?

What about the whole gem scarab curse thing?
|
Syrinia

The scarabs can be released whenever the gem is picked up from its original spot, then we'd have to fight our way out of the pyramid before the scarab beetles got to us.

Ah, ok. Wasn't sure if you were replacing your previous plans.

Syrinia

Nope, just incorporating some more into them ^.=.^

Good idea, now i don't have to keep my lips sealed lol
